Janis Ivers, age 78, Erwin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Friday, August 12, 2022. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin and daughter of the late Henry Clay Ivers and Wilcie Hoyle Ivers.
Janis was a former employee of Industrial Garment where she worked as a Seamstress for several years. She was a homemaker and Janis cared for the elderly. Janis was a member of First Assembly of God in Erwin. She loved the Lord with all her heart and adored her church family.
She enjoyed watching Gunsmoke, joking around with others and sharing stories about how she grew up.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Jack Ivers and Ulice Ivers; three nieces: Deborah Beam, Lisa Nelson, and Pamela Beam.
Janis leaves behind to cherish her memory, one sister, Pauline Ward Phipps (Adron), Elizabethton; special niece whom Janis lived with, Ginger Holtsclaw and partner, Logan “Reagan” Centers, Erwin; nieces: Elaine Atkins, Kayla Carpenter, Alexis Carpenter, Kim Beam; nephews: Steven Ivers, Colton, and Raylan.
Janis’ family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Preacher Ralph Crass will officiate the 1:00 p.m. service. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
