David Michael Ault, age 52, Erwin, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 5, 2022. He is a son of Reverend Paul Ault and Pauline Bailey Ault and he was a lifelong resident of Erwin.
David attended and enjoyed playing music at New Hope Church, Harmony Freewill Baptist Church, and Roans Chapel Church. He was employed by The City of Johnson City where he worked as a Mechanic.
David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife, spending time with his grandchildren, playing his guitar, making jewelry, cooking with the women on holidays, canning, and gardening with his wife. David was a jack of all trades, and he could work on and fix just about anything. He loved his pets: Sassy, Buster, Lucky and Rogue.
David was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ashley Ault and his brother, Mark Ault.
David leaves behind to cherish many great memories of him, his loving wife of twenty-four and a half years, Linda McDuffie Ault; parents, Reverend Paul and Pauline Bailey Ault; two children: A.J. Cooper (Sarah), Flag Pond, Kayla Ault Hughes (Logan), Unicoi; four grandchildren: Taylor Cooper, Hailey Cooper, Ryleigh Hughes and Ariya Hughes; his two sisters: Susie Thomas (Kelvin) and Vida Hughes (Tim), all of Erwin; his two brothers: Paul Ault, Jr. (Janice), Erwin and Burnie Ault (Peggy), Elizabethton; special sister-in-law, Paggy McDuffie; special great nephew, Michael Brown; his special friends: Mike Shell, Alvin and Cindy Ollis, Scott Foster, Shane and Shannah Eggers, Mary Carver, Pam and Waylon Lewis.
