Catherine Mae (Boellner) Bakely

Catherine Mae Boellner Bakely, age 83, Thorn Hill, Tennessee, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Thursday, August 11, 2022. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 4, 1939, to the late Herman and Ruth Bush Boellner. Catherine grew up in Baltimore and moved to New Jersey after she married her husband, Ronald.

Catherine and her husband owned a florist in New Jersey for many years. After their retirement, they moved to Eastern Shore, Virginia. Catherine moved to Thorn Hill, Tennessee shortly after her husband passed away in 2015 to live with her son, Chad.

Catherine was a Deacon and faithful member of Emmanuel Episcopalian Church. She was very involved with church activities and working with hospice patients. Catherine loved her family dearly and treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed floral arranging, gardening, reading, and going to the beach. Catherine loved animals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost sixty years, Ronald Bakely who passed away on October 28, 2015, and two brothers.

Catherine leaves behind to cherish many loving memories of her, three children: Jeff Bakely (Traci), Audubon, NJ, Karen Bakely (John Sihr), Maple Shade, NJ and Chad Bakely (Jodie), Thorn Hill, TN; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Catherine’s family will have a graveside service for their mother in Odd Fellows Cemetery, 4527 Route 130 S., Burlington, NJ at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 a.m. on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in memory of Catherine to: ALPS Adult Day Services, 600 N. Daisy Street, Morristown, TN 37814 or to your local animal shelter.
