William “Bill” Earl Parker, age 75, of Jonesborough, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Friday, October 17, 2025, while he was surrounded by his family at home. He is a son of the late Roy and Ola Lance Parker.
Bill was a United States Army Veteran who served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksman (M-16) Badge with 1 O/S Bar, and Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 Device.
Bill was an active member of Cherokee Mountain Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder. He loved his church and his church family dearly. He retired from TPI after thirty years of service.
Bill loved old cars, especially hot rods. He enjoyed working on cars and painting them. Bill liked wood working and he could build anything. His favorite TV shows were Westerns.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two daughters: Penney Aesque, and Candy Hensley; two grandsons: Noah Barnett, and Dakota Casey; three sisters: Dorothy Higginbotham, Ann Parker and Mary Banner.
Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of forty-eight years, Linda Sparks Parker; five grandchildren: Melinda Barnett, Roger Vance, II, Alysha Vance, Amber Casey, and Josh Casey; eight great grandchildren: Makayla Smith, Jaden Smith, Neveah Green, Isaiah Miller, Leroy Green, Elijah Miller, Cashton Vance, and Ashton Casey; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to: Cherokee Mountain Church, John and Margaret Banner, Jerry Haws, and Mountain Home VA.
The Parker family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Cherokee Mountain Church. Preacher Kenney Whaley will officiate the 1:00 p.m. funeral service. Music will be provided by Eric Whaley. Interment with military honors will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Cherokee Mountain Church family will serve as pallbearers.
