William “Bill” G. Forbes

William “Bill” G. Forbes, beloved husband, stepfather, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, at the age of 89.

Born on October 16, 1935, in Red Hill, North Carolina, Bill was the son of the late Garrett Forbes and Della Laws Forbes. He spent his life dedicated to his family, work, and passions. A skilled craftsman, he worked in construction for most of his career, leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication.

Bill had a lifelong love of antique cars, spending countless hours restoring and maintaining classic vehicles, which brought him great joy and many friendships. He was known for his sharp sense of humor and a warm heart, always striving to make others laugh and ensuring those around him felt happy and cared for.

He was deeply committed to his faith and community as a member of the Unicoi Methodist Church, a proud Freemason, and a member of the Jericho Shriners for 49 years, where he served as president of the club, reflecting his dedication to fellowship and service. He will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and passion for life.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Elsie Forbes; his stepdaughter, Dena Ketron, and her husband, Terry Ketron; his step-granddaughter, Katie Cross; and his brother-in-law, Dennis Ball.

The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. noon at the funeral home. Dr. Mike Pinner will officiate the 12:00 p.m. funeral service. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers include Terry Ketron, Dennis Ball, Criss Yelton, Kevin McInturff, Mark Ramsey, and Mike Linville.
