William Ernest "Bill" Little

William E. "Bill" Little, age 94, Erwin, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the Christian Care Center of Unicoi County. He was a native of Erwin and a son of the late Ernest W. Little and Texie Watts Little. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Bill served his country honorably during WWII in the South Pacific with Headquarters Squadron, First Marine Air Wing. Bill graduated from East Tennessee State College in 1953 with his BS Degree in Business. He worked for Clinchfield Railroad and CSX from 1950 until his retirement in 1985. Bill worked for the railroad in Erwin, TN, Miami, FL, Atlanta, GA, Jacksonville, FL and Kingsport, TN. After his retirement he and his wife moved back to Erwin. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Bill enjoyed reading, walking, Duke Basketball and he loved to cook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of seventy-four years, Margaret E. Little on November 7, 2019; infant daughter, Barbara Jean Little; two brothers: J. B. Little and Richard Little. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, two sons: Larry Little (Susan), Hampton, GA, Harvey W. Little, Erwin; two daughters: Jane Buatti, Downingtown, PA and Elaine Bowker (Robert), Phoenix, AZ; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2020 in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor David Crutchfield will officiate at the 2:00 PM service. Music will be provided by Inez Chandler. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
