Warren G. Hardin, age 84, of Flag Pond, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, while he was surrounded by his family at home. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Clyde and Maude Brackins Hardin.
Warren retired from White’s Grocery Store after many years of service. He attended Ernestville Freewill Baptist Church. Warren was a faithful man of God who loved the Lord with all his heart. He loved reading and studying the Bible. Warren loved his family dearly and took exceptional care of them.
He enjoyed woodworking, collecting knives and comic books. Warren had a great sense of humor, and he liked making others laugh.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Samuel Shelton, and several siblings.
Warren leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, his loving and devoted wife of sixty-one years, Margaret Sparks Hardin; three children: Roger Allen Hardin, Elizabeth Buttke Hardin, and Stephen Hardin, all of Flag Pond; three grandchildren: David Allen Shelton, Kayla Katherine Johnson (Morgan), and Brandy Elizabeth Ford (Jake); three great grandchildren: Jackson David Shelton, Amanda Belle Sams, and Bentley Layne Ford; one brother, Fred Hardin; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Warren’s graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Harris Cemetery, Devil’s Fork Community. Reverend Dennis Green and Reverend Aaron Waddell will officiate. Music will be provided by Reverend Aaron Waddell and Lora Waddell. Active pallbearers will be Dennis Green, Todd Edwards, Morgan Johnson, Jake Ford, David Shelton, and Jackson Shelton. Honorary pallbearers will be D.J. Green and Blake Waddell. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 p.m. on Friday.
