Terry Wayne Tapp, age 76, of Erwin, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus on Sunday, July 20, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of Erwin and son of the late Hubert Tapp, Sr., and Beatrice Linville Tapp.
Terry graduated from ETSU where he earned his BS Degree in Mathematics. He retired from Sunbeam Bread where he was a supervisor and driver for over twenty years.
Terry was an active and faithful member of Canah Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Over the years he served as a Deacon, head of the Deacon Board, taught Sunday School, and was a Youth Leader. Terry loved his church and his church family. He enjoyed writing Bible Commentaries.
Also, Terry was a member of Gideon’s International.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katheryn Hopson Tapp in 1996; one sister, Susie Masters.
Terry leaves behind to cherish his memory, his two daughters: Renee Laws and husband, Terry of Marshall, North Carolina, and Regina Harrison and husband, Jack of Elizabethton; three grandchildren: Leah Bennett and husband, Jarod, Adam Metcalf, and Caleb Harrison; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Terry’s graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Pastor Mark Simmons will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday.
