Shirley Ann Street Wilson, age 87, of Unicoi, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025, at her residence, while she was surrounded by her family. She was born in Mitchell County, North Carolina, to the late Dowd Street and Gertrude Whitson Street. Shirley lived most of her life in Upper East Tennessee.
She graduated from Happy Valley High School in 1955. Shirley was a graduate of Steed College. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Shirley was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed taking excellent care of her home and her family. She liked tending her garden and cooking. Shirley loved her family dearly and she treasured spending time with them.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Jeff Street.
Shirley leaves behind to cherish many precious memories, her devoted husband of sixty-six years, Ford Wilson; her two children: Ron Wilson and wife, Sherri, and Gina Clark and husband, Greg, all of Unicoi; five grandchildren: Austin Wilson (Alexis), Garrett Clark (Kelsey), Grace Ann Clark, Max Bacon (Ramona), and Lauren Bacon; three great grandchildren: Colton Wilson Clark, Mila Bacon, and Ezlynn Bacon; special caregiver, Brenda Stout; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Unicoi Funeral Home. Pastor Garry Edwards and Pastor David Crutchfield will officiate the 1:00 p.m. funeral service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Greg Clark, Garrett Clark, Austin Wilson, Jeff Phillips, Jerry Sams, and Jeff Lane.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Shirley to: Calvary Baptist Church, 540 Adams Street, Erwin, Tennessee 37650.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Amedisys Hospice Care Staff for the excellent care given to Shirley and her family.
