Sharon "Sherry" Ruth (West) Payne

Sharon “Sherry” Ruth Payne, age 72, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Erwin Health Care Center in Erwin. She is the daughter of the late George West, Jr., and Gladys Carrington West.

Sharon spent over forty years as a respected hairdresser at Virginia Beach, becoming well known for her gentle kindness and southern charm. She loved a good cup of hot coffee and a thrilling game of Bingo, which she proved to be quite lucky over the years.

She will be deeply missed by her son, Brian Payne and her daughter, Kelli Payne. Other survivors include her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Payne; her three grandchildren: Katie, Natalie, and Sawyer; her best friend, Jim Payne.
