Ronnie Audie Shelton, age 64, Erwin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 02, 2020 at the Unicoi County Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Robert Elmer Shelton and Florence Ethel Shelton. Ronnie was a member of Lower Higgins Creek Church of God. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company where he worked as a Welder and Pipefitter. Ronnie enjoyed playing his guitar, working on lawnmowers, cars and trucks. He also liked to go coon hunting and mowing his yard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Kenneth, Broyate and Jerry Shelton. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of forty years, Sharon Shelton; three children: Terry Franklin (Jennifer), Shaun Franklin and Kristi Davidson, all of Erwin; eight grandchildren: Jessica Franklin, Erica Franklin, Phillip Franklin, Harley Davidson, Landon Davidson, Taylor Casey, Sierra Franklin and Dustin Franklin; six great grandchildren; four sisters: Hazel Cutshaw, Helen Shelton (Raymond), all of Greeneville; Agnes Ramsey (Carl), Flag Pond and Violet Blankenship, Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 10:00-2:00 PM on Saturday, April 4, 2020 in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM in the Higgins Family Cemetery, Rocky Fork. Preacher Pete Lloyd will officiate. Pallbearers will be Terry Franklin, Phillip Franklin, Harley Davidson, Gene Terry, Dustin Franklin, Chad Davidson and Lewis Shelton. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:45 PM on Saturday.
