Roderick Allen Harris

Roderick Allen Harris, age 77, Erwin, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in Center on Aging after a lengthy illness. He is a son of the late William and Stella Duncan Harris.

Roderick was a native of Erwin but lived in New York for twenty-five years before returning to Erwin. He was a US Navy Veteran. He retired from being self-employed in the Jewelry Industry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Billy Harris, Bud Harris, Johnny Harris; three sisters: Geraldine Harris, Pauline Edwards, Eleanor Thomas.

Roderick leaves behind to cherish his memories, two sons: Marc Harris and Johnny Harris both of New York; three grandchildren: Justin Harris, Marc Harris, Jr., and Giana Harris; special niece, Judy Simmons. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM-2:30 PM Friday, January 14, 2022 in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Cecil Scott Woodby will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 2:30 PM Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
