Robert “Eddie” McCurry, age 64, of Erwin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at The Center on Aging and Health while in hospice care with his sister by his side.

Eddie is a son of the late Buddy and Mary Lou Bennett McCurry, and he was a lifelong resident of Erwin.

Eddie leaves behind to cherish his memory, his sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Gene Garland; nephew, Nick Garland; great niece, Naylee Garland; special Aunt and Uncle, Kay and Rodger Banner; several cousins and friends also survive.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Melissa and his Dari Ace friends, Ballad Health Wound Care family, Becky and Amedisys Hospice Team, and The Center on Aging and Health for all their love and compassion given to Eddie.

Eddie's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, in the Evergreen Mausoleum. Pastor Art Gibson will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the mausoleum by 10:50 a.m. on Monday.
