Richard Allen Adkins

Richard Allen Adkins, age 74, of Erwin, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 18, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of Erwin and a son of the late Dewey Adkins and Gladys Pate Adkins.

He was of the Christian Faith. Richard loved listening to preachers and gospel music on the radio and watching them on TV. His favorite TV shows were The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. He also liked to watch old westerns on TV.

Richard was a very sweet, kindhearted, and respectful person to everyone. He loved feeding the local cats and dogs.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Adkins.

Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory, one brother, Willard Adkins and wife, Geneva; two sisters: Jo Ann Patton and husband, Bobby, and Kathy Hardin and husband, Howard; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A private family inurnment will be held at Evergreen Mausoleum.
