Phyllis Louise (Gordon) Hawk

Phyllis Louise Gordon Hawk, age 97, Erwin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. She is a daughter of the late Ben Gordon and Eva Sible Gordon Huber. Phyllis was a native of Churubusco, Indiana and she moved to Erwin in 1964.

She was a homemaker and a very active member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Phyllis was an active member of various civic clubs in Unicoi County for many years. She volunteered in the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for several years. Phyllis was an excellent seamstress, and she taught all her daughters how to sew. She loved to cook and was known by her family and friends as a fantastic cook. The family looked forward to her delicious family meals on Sunday’s.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Hawk and one brother, Harold Gordon.

Phyllis leaves behind to cherish her memory, four daughters: Cheryl Jennings (Robert), Erwin, Barbara Hawk, of the home, Pam Jaress (John), Hoagland, IN and Sheila Spiece (Lynn), Garrett, IN; one brother, Bob Gordon; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Phyllis’ memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at the Centenary United Methodist Church. Reverend Kim Isley will officiate.
