Patricia "Trish" Ellen (Brown) Harris

Patricia “Trish” Ellen Brown Harris, age 83, of Erwin, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 17, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin and daughter of the late Pat and Ellen Phetteplace Brown.

Trish’s husband and family were her greatest love and joy in life. She was a dedicated and caring spouse, mother, sister, grandmother, friend, cook, homemaker and so much more.

She actively and faithfully served her Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church family. Trish served her Evergreen community through children’s ministry, food groups, and the Forever Young program. Trish truly loved her church family.

She was a member of the Unaka Quilt Club and adored all her friends there. Trish used this source of creativity to make beautiful and special quilts for members of her family and community.  

Trish will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Trish was preceded in death by two sisters: Becky McNalley and Mary Lou Petterson.

Trish leaves behind to cherish many precious memories, the love of her life for sixty-seven years, Walter Harris; four children: Walter Pat Harris (Marcie), Lisa Saylor (Jerry), Michael Harris (Penny), and Sarah Lynch (Trevor) all of Unicoi County; grandchildren: Nicholas Harris (Mendy), Drew Schwenke (Gary), Sarah Jayne Jarnigan, Scott Saylor (Mallorie), Aaron Saylor, Kamille Harris (Alex Rembert), Bradly Harris (Emily Burchette), Emily Rice (Ethan), and Rachel Lynch; great grandchildren: Blake Schwenke, Skyler Dykes, Madison Jayne, Londyn Hatcher, Nolan Hatcher, and Beckham Rembert; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church. Pastor Noah Taylor and Sam Harris will officiate the 1:00 p.m. funeral service with music by Preston Harris. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. David Harris will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
