Olga (Byrd) Edwards

Olga Byrd Edwards, age 80, Erwin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. She was born on November 7, 1942, to the late John Lawrence and Velva Willis Byrd. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin.

Olga retired from Morrill Motors with over forty years of service. She enjoyed gardening and going fishing. Olga attended Ernestville Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Olga was preceded in death by two brothers: John “J.L.” Byrd and Charles Cyle Byrd; three sisters: Robbie M. Byrd, Joan Byrd King, and Dorris Byrd.

Olga leaves behind to cherish her memory, two daughters: Audra Lee Tipton and husband Tony, and Janice Edwards; two grandchildren: TK and Skyler Salling; one brother, Harold Byrd and wife Mae Bell of Flag Pond; one sister, Bertha Byrd of Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service for Olga will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 in the Evergreen Cemetery. Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:25 p.m. Friday.
