Nina Evanna (Hughes) Hyder

Nina Evanna Hughes Hyder, age 71, of Erwin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at her residence while she was surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin and daughter of the late Lindsey and Edolene Tipton Hughes.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Nina was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and decorating her home for all the holidays.

Nina loved her family dearly and loved being “Nammie” to her grandchildren whom she adored.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Ronnie Hyder on February 19, 2015; two brothers: Gary and Darrell Hughes.

Nina leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, her two children: Amy Brackins, and Jordan Hyder and wife, Mackenzie, all of Erwin; her brother, John Mark Hughes and wife, Karen of Erwin; three grandchildren: Connor Brackins, McKenna Hyder, and Gunnar Henne; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A private service will be held for the family in the Evergreen Mausoleum. Pastor Jeff Autrey will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Hughes, Corey Hughes, and Connor Brackins.
