Nebraska "Bratsy" (Peterson) Miller

Nebraska “Bratsy” Peterson Miller, age 81, Erwin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Center on Aging and Health while she was surrounded by her family. She is a daughter of the late Luther and Disa Bennett Peterson. Bratsy was born in Poplar, North Carolina and lived most of her life in the Ramseytown Community before moving to Erwin.

She was an immaculate homemaker. Bratsy was of the Baptist Faith, and she enjoyed going to church with her children.

She loved taking care of people. Bratsy would put the needs of others before her own needs. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed fixing large meals for everyone to enjoy. Bratsy made sure you had a plate of food even if you weren’t hungry. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Miller on December 11, 2014; three brothers: Mac Peterson, Larry Peterson, and Jimmy “Jim” Peterson.

Those left to cherish her memory, two children: Rodney Miller (Amy) and Linda Autrey (Pastor Jeff), all of Erwin; five grandchildren: Aaron Autrey (Ella), Cherith Austin (Andrew), Makayla Caudle (Cody), Andrew Autrey and Gavin Miller; five great grandchildren: Weston Caudle, LeeAnna and Ibby Autrey, Emma and Jackson Austin; six brothers: R.L. Peterson, Willard Peterson, Calvin Peterson, Dayton Peterson (Kathy), J.C. Peterson and Sherrill Peterson (Tammy); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Autrey and Pastor Aaron Autrey will officiate the 1:00 p.m. funeral service. Interment will follow in the Byrd Cemetery, Ramseytown Community, North Carolina. Pallbearers will be Andrew Austin, Cody Caudle, Andrew Autrey and Gavin Miller.
