Michelle Lynn (Coggins) Lorence

Michelle Lynn Coggins Lorence, age 42, of Unicoi, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the Johnson City Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. She is the daughter of Linda Wilson Adkins and the late Richard Coggins.

Michelle was raised in Erwin. She attended ETSU where she earned her BS Degree in Criminal Justice. After she graduated from ETSU Michelle moved to California to further her training as an actress and attend Woodbury University. Later, Michelle moved to Atlanta to further her acting career.

Michelle loved working in the entertainment industry! She trained and studied at Catapult Acting Studio, The Working Actor Group and Prevette Dance Studio. Michelle appeared in over fifty-nine movies. She worked with Michael Bateman and Tyler Perry.

Michelle’s hobbies included boating, aerobics, mountain biking, gymnastics, hula hoop, roller skating, rollerblading, swimming, and dancing.

In addition to her father, Michelle was preceded in death by her stepdad who raised her, Kenneth Adkins; maternal grandparents, Hoover and Hazel Pauline Wilson; one uncle, Thomas Wilson.

Survivors include her mother, Linda Wilson Adkins of Unicoi; brother, Daniel Coggins of Erwin; sister, Jeanene Adkins of Kingsport; two aunts: Dorothy Prater of Johnson City and Evelyn Thomas of Florida; cousins: Rachel Paige, Dinah Dziolek, and Kelly Harrison; special friend, Rhonda Foster of Erwin; her precious little dog, Tootsie Roll.

Michelle’s family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 03, 2026, at the funeral home. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
