Michael Seth Griffith, age 46, of Erwin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. He was a miracle and a blessing to his parents and sister, and he was deeply loved by all who knew him.
Michael was full of life and had a spirit for adventure. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, working in the yard, searching for unique antiques, playing the piano, cooking, and shopping for family and friends. He loved looking for healthy foods that also tasted great and enjoyed sharing his discoveries with others. He especially loved going to the beach, decorating for the holidays, and dressing up whether for Halloween, Christmas, or any special occasion. Michael had a joyful personality and brought enthusiasm and creativity wherever he went. As a child, he was also involved in Cub Scouts and enjoyed the experiences and friendships it brought him.
Throughout his life, Michael explored many different interests and careers in search of what he truly enjoyed. He worked at the YMCA with children’s camp and after-school programs, where he enjoyed working with children. For a short time, he worked as a model and even appeared in a magazine. He also worked construction in Puerto Rico for a year and later worked in X-ray at Johnson City Medical Center. Michael later worked at an auction house before beginning his career with ACT, where he worked for 19 years and found the career he truly loved. Through dedication and hard work, he succeeded in rising in his field, becoming an operations manager. He worked on several projects and helped train managers and employees at the company’s Texas office. Michael deeply valued the many people he worked with over the years, many of whom became like family to him.
Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, creativity, laughter, and love for his family and friends. His family will miss him terribly, but they will forever cherish the memories, joy, and love he brought into their lives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louise Grubb Conway and Dolly Griffith, along with several aunts and uncles.
His remaining survivors to keep his memories alive will be his parents Jim & Diane Griffith, his sister Donna (William) Pearson, his nephew W Caleb Pearson, his niece Shea (Mitchell) Foster, his great niece Aspen Reine Foster, his best friends Chance Jones, Candy Lewis, Elizabeth Kimbrough and many more family & friends
