Mendy Renee (Whitson) Henry

Mendy Renee Whitson Henry, age 45, of Erwin, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center. She is the daughter of Garry Whitson and Janie Yates Whitson. Mendy was a lifelong resident of Erwin.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Erwin. Mendy was the Assistant Manager at Murphy’s USA. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mendy loved listening to 80’s music and watching scary movies.

In addition to her parents, Garry and Janie Whitson she is survived by her daughter, Jordan Grace Henry, of the home; brother, Mark Whitson (Sandy); sister, Candie Furches (Brian), all of Erwin; two nieces: Kira Whitson and Caelie Furches; two nephews: Matthew Whitson and Brandon Furches.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 04, 2025, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church of Erwin. Minister Todd Edmondson will officiate the 1:00 p.m. funeral service. Music will be provided by Rob Meir.  Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ben Booher, Joe Wiggington, Rob Meir, and John Kiser.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations be made to the Robert Ledford Funeral Home to help with Mendy’s funeral expenses.
