Margie Jean (Gilbert) Thompson

Margie Gilbert Thompson, age 84, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Erwin Health Care Center. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin and daughter of the late Carl and Melda Tinker Gilbert.

Margie was a member of Lily Dale Church of Christ. She retired from the Johnson City Medical Center after thirty-two years of service.

Margie loved her sons and grandchildren dearly. Her family meant the world to her.

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Diane Whitson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her two sons: Todd Thompson (Jane) of Flag Pond, and Chris Thompson of Unicoi; three grandchildren: Emmie Thompson Burger (Ryan), Zachary Thompson, and Brock Thompson; three great grandchildren: Paizlee Burger, Knox Burger, and Tatum Thompson.

Private services will be held for the family.
