Lynn Huskins, age 77, of Erwin, passed away on Thursday, May 08, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on July 03, 1947, in Unicoi to the late Carl and Lena Keplinger Huskins.
Lynn lived most of his life in Unicoi County however, he moved his family to Woodstock, Georgia where they resided for twenty-four years before moving back to Erwin in 2006.
He was a proud United States Army Veteran having served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. During his time in the Army, Lynn was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Bronze Star.
Lynn’s passion was working on cars, which led him to a career as a Body Technician. He was formerly employed at Sherwood Chevrolet where he specialized in Corvettes which he received many awards for his excellent work. Lynn owned and operated H&H Body Shop in Erwin with his partner, Phil Harris, for several years. After he moved to Woodstock, Georgia he worked at Quality Paint & Body where he retired.
Lynn was the Patriarch of his family whom he loved dearly, and he took exceptional care of them. He enjoyed NASCAR Racing and the Atlanta Braves. Lynn’s favorite T.V. shows were The Young and the Restless and The Bold & Beautiful. He never missed an episode!
In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by his son, Roger Lynn Huskins on April 19, 2025, and his sister, Velma Huskins McKinney.
Lynn leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, his loving and devoted wife of fifty-five years, Linda Peterson Huskins; two children: Stephanie “Sissy” Holden of Erwin and Carl Huskins of Marietta, Georgia; six grandchildren: Zachery Huskins, Ashley Huskins, Hannah Holden, Corey Harris, Hunter Huskins, and Blake Huskins; four great grandchildren: Aubriella Huskins, Aurora Huskins, Garret Taylor, and Melody Taylor; three nieces: Missy Ingram, Lena McKinney, and Sherry McKinney.
The Huskins family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Lynn’s funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Simmons officiating. Committal with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in Evergreen Cemetery. Toby Bennett, Corey Harris, Zachery Huskins, Robbie Casey, Doug Evans, and Mike Peterson will serve as pallbearers. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
