Louise Beatrice Carver Johnson, age 98, of Erwin, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Center on Aging & Health. She was a native of Carter County and daughter of the late Walt and Callie Mathes Carver. Louise lived most of her life in Erwin.
She was a member of Watauga Point Methodist Church however, Louise attended 9th Street Baptist Church for over seventy years. Louise was very active at 9th Street Baptist Church where she was a nursery teacher for many years.
Louise was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed making delicious homemade candy during the holidays. Louise liked crafting, camping, gardening, and growing beautiful flowers.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Arthur “A.W.” Johnson on May 17, 2016; two brothers: Fred and Harold Carver; one sister, Maxine Spoon.
Louise leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, her son, Terry Johnson and his wife, Trish Adkins Johnson of Unicoi; two grandchildren: Ashton Willis (Clint), and Jordan Johnson; great grandson, Karter Willis and great granddaughter, Giada Warren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service for Louise will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, in the Roselawn Memory Gardens with Pastor Peter Layton officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend her graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 p.m. on Friday.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Center on Aging & Health Staff as well as Amedisys Hospice Staff for the excellent care given to Louise.
