Lori Ann Peterson

Lori Ann Peterson, age 55, of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, after a lengthy illness at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin and a daughter of the late Kenneth and Nell Tolley Peterson.

Lori was a graduate of Unicoi County High School, class of 1989. She was a caregiver at Dawn of Hope for several years. Lori had a very caring heart; she always put others before herself.

Lori had a great sense of humor who enjoyed making others smile. She was a light in the lives of others. Lori’s hobbies included crafting, making cards, jewelry making, and drawing. She loved animals too.

In addition to her parents, Lori was preceded in death by her fiancé of twenty-nine years, Chris Maricle on September 10, 2020; several aunts and uncles.

Lori leaves behind to cherish her memory, one brother, Timothy “Tim” Peterson of Elizabethton; one sister, Rebecca “Becky” Tilson and her husband, Terry of Erwin; aunts: Joan Adkins, Arlene Ervin, Pat Thomas, Pearl Peterson, and Charlotte McCurry; nephew, Christopher Peterson; special bonus family: Alisha and Russell Kern, Rowan Lynn, and Ricker Kern; several cousins also survive and many friends whom she loved like her own family.

Lori’s graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. noon on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Reverend Kim Casey will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday.
