Linda "Granny" Jane (Bennett) Price

Linda Jane “Granny” Bennett Price, age 84, Erwin, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Center on Aging and Health. She is a daughter of the late William “Bill” and Mabel Ingram Bennett.

Jane lived most of her life in the Coffee Ridge Community of Unicoi County. She was a homemaker. Jane was a loving mother and grandmother. She was known to everyone that knew her as “Granny”. She loved to cook, and she made sure no one left hungry. Jane thought there was nothing more important than her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two plus years; James Blaine “JB” Price, Sr. on August 10, 1998; one son, James “Sharky” Price; one great granddaughter, Adrianna Kniceley; several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Joanna Shelton of Bristol, VA; four grandchildren: Stephen Price (Joni), Jr. Price (Kelly), Vincent Price, Christal Engle (Josh); seven great grandchildren: Taylor Price, Dustin Sheets, Selena Price, Justin Price, Ryan Engle, Aydan Price, Aaliyah Engle; one great-great granddaughter, Phoenix Price; her brothers and sisters along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the Mountain Home National Cemetery New Annex. Preacher Willie Morrow will officiate. Pallbearers will be Justin Price, Dustin Sheets, Stephen Price, JR. Price, Vincent “Peanut” Price, Josh Engle, Daniel Whitaker. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Engle and Aydan Price. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 PM Thursday.
