Lillian Roberta (Bailey) Edwards

Lillian Roberta Bailey Edwards, age 76, of Flag Pond, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and daughter of the late Wilford and Pansy Jewell Bailey.

Lillian retired from Erwin Healthcare in 1997. She attended Higgins Chapel Baptist Church.

Lillian enjoyed reading her Bible, working puzzle books, and playing games on her tablet.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years, Robert Benny Edwards on April 23, 2024; stepson, Robert Edwards; three brothers: Charles, Wesley, and Dennis Bailey; three sisters: Norma Jean Williams, Glenda Ledford, and Lisa Bailey.

Lillian leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons: Rodney Sams of Flag Pond, and Timothy Sams of Erwin; two daughters: Penny Williams and Candice Metcalf, both of Flag Pond; several grandkids and two special great granddaughters: Sophia, and Piper; three brothers: Robert Bailey, Ballard Bailey, and John Bailey; one sister, Belle Williams; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Lillian’s graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in the Evergreen Cemetery. Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Anthony, Mitchell, Bre, Samuel, Rodney, and Lane. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday.
