Letha Ann Wilson Whitson, age 86, Erwin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Monday, August 1, 2022, while she was surrounded by her family at the Johnson City Medical Center. She is a daughter of the late Dave and Nova Rasnick Wilson. Letha was born and raised in Bee Log, NC. After she married, Letha lived on various military bases before moving to Erwin in 1973.
She attended Grace Methodist Church. Letha worked at Texas Instruments for several years. She loved animals, traveling, sightseeing, floral arranging and decorating for Christmas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Lane Whitson in 2005 and her brother, D.H. Wilson.
Letha leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, her son, David Lane Whitson and her sister, Sue W. Cox, Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Letha’s graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022, in the Evergreen Mausoleum. Reverend Tim Tapp will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the mausoleum by 1:50 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in memory of Letha to: Unicoi County Animal Shelter, 185 N. Industrial Drive, Erwin, TN 37650, or your favorite charity.
