March 15, 1955 – April 1, 2026
Born Ft. Benning Georgia Passed while living in Erwin, TN
April 1, 2026 our sweet Joyce Ann Delffs Lovelace (Joy) was allowed to move along to be with our Lord. After an 18-month struggle with Peritoneal Cancer, Joy quietly went to sleep without pain or issues, such a blessed transition completed Joy’s earthly journey.
Joe B. Delffs and Pansy Delffs were Joy’s parents and preceded her in passing. Joy has four brothers and one sister: (Roger Delffs of Evening Shade Arkansas, David Delffs of Erwin, Tn, John Delffs of Daniel Island, SC, Joe J (Rusty) Delffs of Poplar, NC and Sister Neta Delffs Buckwalter). All of Joy’s siblings are living and doing well.
Joy’s goal from a young lady was to have 6 children, well she had 2. Kimberly Lovelace Peterson and Joseph Perry Lovelace. Six was not in the cards until later. Kimberly Lovelace Peterson married Shawn Peterson of Poplar, NC and they have three children: Xandria Lovelace, Jadyn Peterson and Branson Peterson. They all live in the local area and are doing well. Xandria has two children, Jakoe' Blanding and Lennyxx Blanding ages 2 and 4.
Joseph Perry Lovelace lives in Gray TN and married to Kimberly Ann Hilton Lovelace, they have three children also: Cheyenne Lawson, Kaleigh Ann Lovelace Earp and Landon Perry Lovelace.
Kaleigh is married to Jacob Riley Earp. Kaleigh has one Son, Baylor Kyle Perry Lovelace.
Joy reached her goal and loved her babies with all her heart.
At a young age Joy was influenced by one of her aunts, Hazel Sullivan, who was a hairdresser. Joy was imprinted and her work in life was set. Joy loved her profession and her client family. From the east to west coast and several countries, Joy’s generational clients are far and wide. You sit in Joy’s chair and her hands went on your shoulders as she proceeded to listen to your blessings and woes. One at a time, no interruption, Joy helped her friends feel better about themselves. Other than her babies, that was one of my Joy’s greatest pleasures.
As far as me, Kenneth Perry Lovelace, our paths were destined to join from an early age. From a military base in Augsburg Germany (1958-1962) to a blind date in Columbus Ga. 9 (1971) years later, we melted together. Age 15 and 17 and a 55-year journey began.
As I went through the decades of pictures, adventures, and travels looking for a good current image of my Joy, I had to stop and realize, My Joy is gone. O Lord, be kind as I know Joy is watching all of us. Let us follow her path as to meet again. Joy Ann Delffs Lovelace, ascended at age 71 on April Fools day2026.
Joy’s funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:55 p.m. on Friday. Joy's family will have a celebration of her life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at their residence, 150 Horton Ridge Road, Erwin, Tennessee 37650.
