Jimmie Street Obituary

Jimmie Joyce Miller Street, age 92, of Unicoi, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 07, 2024. She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and daughter of the late Robert Miller and Estella Allen Miller.

Jimmie retired from the Unicoi County Health Department where she served as the Director for twenty years. After her retirement she went to work at Clinchfield Credit Union for several years.

Jimmie was a former member of Unicoi United Methodist Church where she served as Choir Director and taught Sunday School for many years. Then, she became a faithful member of Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church. Jimmie loved the Lord with all her heart, and she loved church. She was a godly wife, mother, grandmother, and sister in Christ.

Jimmie enjoyed traveling which included a trip to The Holy Land where she waded in the Jordan River and visited the Wailing Wall. She participated in a Charles Stanley Cruise and visited many wonderful locations during all her adventurous travels over the years. Jimmie liked to work out in her yard. She treasured spending time with her family and cooked big Sunday dinners for everyone to enjoy together.

In addition to her parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jack Street in 1997; two brothers and six sisters.

Jimmie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her three children: Patty Roller (Terry), of Unicoi, Chuck Street (Charlotte), of Unicoi and Lisa Davis (Larry), of Maryville; eight grandchildren: Haley McNabb (Chuck), Nick Bowen (Dominique), Adam Street (Gina), Luke Street (Lisa), Ben Davis, Jon Davis (Olivia), Heather Morgan (Dave) and Kendra Roller (Kevin Brotherton); seventeen great grandchildren: Jakob Bowen, Joy Stover (Levi), Lily Harris, Zach McNabb, Caleb McNabb, Indi Bowen, Finlee Bowen, Colby McNabb, Alexa Street, Anna Street, Ada Street, Nora Street, Charlie Street, Brooks Davis, Harrison Davis, Hadley Davis and Maddie Morgan; three sisters-in-law: Wilma Miller, Gladys Miller and Shirley Street; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The Street family will receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church. Pastor Noah Taylor will officiate the 1:00 p.m. funeral service. Jimmie’s eulogy will be delivered by Sandy Lingerfelt. Music will be provided by Zach and Caleb McNabb. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chuck McNabb, Nick Bowen, Adam Street, Luke Street, Ben Davis, and Jon Davis.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Governor’s Bend, Chrisitan Care Center of Unicoi County, Unicoi County Hospital, Dr. Moughon and his nurse, Tina Jones and Amedisys Hospice.
