Jeffrey Lynn Lewis

Jeffrey Lynn Lewis, 65, of Erwin, TN, passed away peacefully on October 22nd, 2022, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital with his sister Lisa by his side. Jeff was born in Erwin, TN on May 18, 1957, a son of the late Gloria (Susie) Lewis.

In addition to his Mother, Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Mary Lewis, brother Terry Lewis, sister in law Sandy Renfro Lewis and nephew Kayne Hunsbusher.

Jeff is survived by brother Randy Lewis, Rogersville, TN, sister Lisa Lewis Hunsbusher, Oakwood, GA, sister in law Hitomi Lewis, Erwin, TN, nephews Brandon, Dustin and Ryan Lewis and Jake Hunsbusher, nieces Terri (Adam) Fann and Lexi Hunsbusher, great nephews Noah, Brady and Graham Fann and great niece Cori Fann. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Jeff was a 1975 graduate of Unicoi County High School where he played the trumpet in the marching band.  He was employed at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital as an ASCP Certified Phlebotomy Technician and Supervisor in the Laboratory for 23 years.  In 2000, Jeff moved to Naples, Florida where he was employed at Cleveland Clinic Florida Naples as a phlebotomist and phlebotomy trainer for 11 years. Jeff received numerous awards and accolades and was voted “Employee of the Year” by his peers at Cleveland Clinic.

An accomplished vocalist and costume designer, he was a man of many talents. Nothing brought Jeff greater joy than to create something of beauty for others. Whether through his singing, dancing, playing the piano, hand sewn costumes or preparing an amazing meal, entertaining was his passion and he was truly gifted.

Jeff was loved by all and will be terribly missed by his family and friends.

The family will have a Celebration of Life for Jeff on Friday, November 4th, from 5pm to 7pm at Robert Ledford Funeral Home, 720 Ohio Ave, Erwin, TN 37650.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Unicoi County Animal Shelter, 185 N Industrial Dr, Erwin, TN 37650 or to the charity of your choice.
