Jeffery "Huey" Huel Higgins

Jeffery Huel “Huey” Higgins, age 54, of Erwin passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Erwin and son of Huel Higgins and the late Faith Wheeler Higgins.

Huey was a Journeyman Ironworker. He was a lifetime member of the Southside Volunteer Fire Department. Huey was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed white water rafting, hunting, fishing, and camping. Over the years he shared many outdoor adventures with his friends and family. He always loved sharing all his adventurous stories with others.

In addition to his mother, Huey was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, one son, Kevin Higgins of Erwin; his father, Huel Higgins of Erwin; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also survive.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Southside Volunteer Fire Department, 1295 Carolina Avenue, Erwin. A celebration of Huey’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m.
