Jaunice (Gentry) Deadrick

Jaunice Gentry Deadrick, age 85 of Erwin, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton, after a lengthy illness. She is a daughter of the late Everette and Eva Mae Bailey Gentry.

Jaunice was a graduate of Unicoi County High School and a lifelong resident of Erwin. She was a homemaker. Jaunice was a lifetime member of Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, Earnest Deadrick on December 21, 2021; one grandchild, Candy Ann Huskins and several brothers and sisters.

Jaunice leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Terry Deadrick, wife, Terrie “Susie” Deadrick; granddaughter, Dawna Deadrick, granddaughter, Donnette Hahn, all of Erwin; her daughter, Starrla Huskins and grandson, Robert Huskins, Jr., Louisville, OH; five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2022, in the Evergreen Cemetery. Pastor Mike Watts of Avalon Hospice will officiate. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:55 p.m. Tuesday.
