James “Jimbo” White, age 66, formerly of Unicoi, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Greendale Home For The Aged in Abingdon, Virginia. He is a son of the late Eli White and Sarah Woodby White. Jimbo lived most of his life in Unicoi before moving to Abingdon.
He attended Unicoi Church of God. Jimbo enjoyed collecting rocks and arrowheads. He liked to go hiking and tinkering with electronics.
In addition to his parents, Jimbo was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara White; one brother, Dwight “Ike” White; three sisters: Brenda Wilson, Peggy White, and Patsy English.
Jimbo’s survivors include his two brothers: Kenneth White of Jonesborough, and David White of Limestone Cove; one sister, Mitzi Hyder (Tom Landingham) of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be held for Jimbo on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in Glenwood/Shelby Hills Cemetery, 839 Bluff City Highway, Bristol, Tennessee 37620. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 p.m. Monday.
