Obituary

James M. “Jim” O’Gorman, age 77, Erwin, passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, November 29, 2020 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was a native of The Bronx, NY having lived in Erwin for the last thirteen years. Jim is a son of the late John O’Gorman and Bridget Coffee O’Gorman.

Jim was a member of Erwin Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was retired from the VAUP Railroad.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, John O’Gorman, Jr., one sister, Mary Keller.

Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of fifty-three years Judy O’Gorman, two sons: James O’Gorman, Jr., Matthew O’Gorman his wife, Tricia; one daughter, Chrissy O’Gorman; two grandchildren: Liam O’Gorman and Aiden O’Gorman; three sisters: Florence Roche, Joan Ackermann, Kathy Morrissey; his special friend, Bill Tomford, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Erwin Pentecostal Holiness Church. Reverend Charles David Byrd will officiate. Everyone is asked to be at the church by 5:45 PM Sunday.
