Irene (Hardin) Hardin

Irene Hardin, age 88, Erwin, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Merville and Jennie Sparks Hardin.

Irene retired from Texas Instruments where she was employed as an Inspector for over fourteen years. She attended Sweetwater Church of God for several years and more recently Tree of Life Church in Greeneville. Irene enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family whom she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Shelton on July 8, 2018; grandson, John Michael Shelton on May 20, 2020; husband, Clayton Cantrell; two brothers: Vernon Hardin and Burlon Hardin.

Irene leaves behind to cherish her memory, three great grandchildren: Brian Meeks, Johnathan Shelton and Emma Shelton; one brother, Gordon Hardin, Jonesborough; two sisters: Hazel Webb (Charles) and Louise Webb, all of Erwin; several special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly also survive.

A private family graveside service will be held.
