Hazel (Miller) Tittle

Hazel Miller Tittle, age 86, of Erwin, passed away on Friday, November 08, 2024, at Christian Care Center of Unicoi County. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin, and daughter of the late Oscar Miller and Maude Day Miller.

Hazel was a homemaker and she baby sat several children. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her family. Hazel was an excellent cook, and she liked making fried apple pies. She was famous in her family’s eyes for her delicious biscuits and gravy.

Hazel played the piano for many years at different churches and she continued playing the piano at Erwin Pentecostal Church until May of 2024.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her beloved husband of seventy years, Raymond Tittle on February 20, 2024; two sons: Dorsey Tittle, July 14, 1992, and Michael Tittle, 05/18/2024; her granddaughter, Mary Beth Tittle; two brothers: Harvey Miller and Paul Miller; six sisters: Gertrude Vanover, Juanita Shell, Louise Pate, Belle Franklin, Sara Shell, and Mae Shell.

Hazel’s survivors include her two grandchildren: Houston Tittle and wife, Kelcie, of Clarksville, and Andrea Tittle of Unicoi; three great grandsons: Remy, Tucker, and JD Tittle; daughter-in-law, Sharon Tittle of Unicoi; sister, Verlene Lewis, of Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Hazel’s graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in the Evergreen Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday.
