Hazel Sue (Peterson) Collins

Hazel Sue Collins, age 68, Erwin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Thursday, February 02, 2023. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin and a daughter of the late R.C. Peterson and Revonda Stockton Peterson.

Sue was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved God, her family, her friends, and her church family. Sue enjoyed working puzzles, cooking, and watching the Food Network.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Collins in 2000 and a very special friend, Carolyn Cash.

Sue leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Bridgette Collins of Elizabethton; two brothers: Mike Peterson and Steve Peterson, both of Erwin; two sisters: Linda Huskins (Lynn), of Erwin and Lisa Hand (Don), of Woodstock, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Sue’s family will receive friends on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor David Crutchfield will officiate the 2:00 p.m. funeral service. Music will be provided by Gary Amos and Larry Pate.
