Harvey Lee Rice

Harvey Lee Rice, age 85, of Flag Pond, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Flag Pond and son of the late Della Rice.

Harvey was of the Christian Faith. He worked at Shelton Lumber Yard for seventy years.

Harvey loved farming, working on cars and woodworking.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Emma Lee Tipton Rice; son, Troy “Huck” Rice; daughter, Susie Rice Tilson; grandson, Samuel Jernigan and one granddaughter, Amy Dickerson.

Harvey leaves behind to cherish his memory, two daughters: Frankie Rice Jernigan (Stephen) of Houston, Alabama and Loretta Rice Edwards (Earl) of Flag Pond; four grandchildren: Abigail, Katherine, Bethany, and Troy; four great grandchildren: Brionna, Arionna, Devin, and P.J. Brown; one great-great grandchild, CC Brown.

Harvey’s graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in the Ray Rice Cemetery. Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Jamey Shelton, Dewayne Rice, Louis Rice, Roger Rice, Bill Hardin, and Stanley Silvers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 p.m. on Thursday.
