Harry "Doug" Douglas Edwards

Harry Douglas “Doug” Edwards, age 82, Erwin, passed away Wednesday, March24, 2021 at the Christian Care Center of Unicoi County. He was a lifelong resident of Erwin and a son of the late Abraham Lincoln and Gertha Harris Edwards.

Doug was of the Baptist Faith. He loved playing the harmonica and violin. He enjoyed counting the cars on the trains that went by his home and hearing the train whistle blow. Doug liked riding his bicycle and feeding the birds.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Bill Edwards and Don Edwards; one sister, Louise Wright.

Doug leaves behind to cherish his memory, two sisters: Kay Edwards and Betty Ruth Hensley; several nieces and nephews; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in the Patty Edwards Cemetery, Coffee Ridge Community. Rev. Craig Shelton and Bishop John Edwards will officiate. Music will be provided by Chaplain Karl Gasser. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 3:25 PM Tuesday.
