Obituary
Goldie Mary Price Foster, of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at her residence. Mrs. Foster, a native of Unicoi County, was born on September 11, 1933, to the late Samuel and Clarsie Cooper Price.
She was a member of South Erwin Church of God, where she was the pianist for several years.
Mrs. Foster graduated from Unicoi County High School in 1952. She operated the Variety Shop on Carolina Avenue, before going to work at the Erwin Record, where she retired in 1998. Mrs. Foster loved animals and enjoyed her flowers.
She was married to the Reverend Dana Foster, who passed away on their thirty-third wedding anniversary, December 1, 1984.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by five brothers: Oscar Price, Howard Price, Martin Price, Stward Price and Beachel Price; three sisters: Myrtle Harris, Etta Lee Hensley and Ivous Henson.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Foster’s graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2023, in the Evergreen Cemetery with Bishop John Edwards officiating. Those wishing to attend should assemble at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. on Monday.
