Cecil Glenn Jones (Glenn)
1937 – 2025
Cecil Glenn Jones, who is lovingly known as Glenn, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at the age of 88, just days after celebrating his birthday. He was surrounded by close family and friends during his final moments following a period of declining health.
Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, Glenn made Erwin his home in 1966. He was a graduate of Holston High School; he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from East Tennessee State University in 1960 (Go Bucs).
Glenn dedicated 35 years to his career at Nuclear Fuel Services, retiring in 2001 as Chief Financial Officer.
Glenn had a heart for community and service. He was active in many organizations, most notably serving as President of Erwin Little League for several years—something he truly cherished. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, sports (especially college football and basketball), reading, and spending time with loved ones. He was happiest attending the activities of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, or relaxing by the lake.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Tonette.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Betty, and his son, Shawn.
Those who will forever cherish his memory include:
