Glenn Lamar Bryan, age 89, Newport, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at the Erwin Health Care Center. He is a son of the late Bert Lamar Bryan and Flossie Hancock Bryan. Glenn was a native of Pierce, Florida and lived most of his life in Fernandina Beach, FL before moving to Newport thirty years ago.
He was a United States Navy Veteran having served his country honorably. Glenn received his BS Degree in Engineering. He retired from Inland Container where he was a Mechanical Engineer for many years. Glenn enjoyed woodworking, gardening and hiking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen LaChance Bryan and his sister, Patsy Woodle.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his three children: Elaine Morgan (Dan), Bakersville, Ted Bryan (Jamie), Seattle, WA and Philip Bryan (Debbie), Bloomington, IN; eight grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; significant other, Joan Boehl; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A private memorial service will be held for Mr. Bryan.
