Geraldine "Geri" (Donovan) Arnold

Geraldine “Geri” Donovan Arnold, age 89, Erwin, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 25, 2020 at her residence with her family by her side. She is a daughter of the late John and Marie Renn Donovan. Geri was a native of Chicago, IL and had lived in Unicoi County since 1967.

Geri retired December 31, 1995 from Northside Hospital after fifteen years of service as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Geri was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Teresa Tipton; one son-in-law, Edward Lawson; one brother, John Donovan; two sisters: Helen Stylinski and Arlene Mazzio; two stepsons Mike Arnold and Timmy Arnold.

Geri leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of thirty-five years, Gale Arnold; one son, Patrick Johnson (Celene), Clyde, NC; five daughters: Marie Johnson, Houston, TX, Joan Johnson Willis (John), Erwin, Kathy Johnson Berry (Ron), Elizabethton, Brenda Tipton, Erwin, Janet Tipton Dugger, Johnson City; seven step children: Kathy Arnold, Tony Arnold, Jeff Arnold, Shirley Dugger, Barbara Bunch, Junior Arnold, and Darrel Arnold; one brother, Richard Donovan, Richmond, IL; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 28, 2020 from 2:00-3:00 PM at the Clear Branch Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday. Pastor Paul Winchester and Reverend Albert Bentley will officiate. Music will be provided by Gary Tilson and Sue Foster Story. Interment will follow in the Clear Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Higgins, Steven Lawson, Ron Berry, John Willis, Patrick Johnson, and Derek Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Dugger and the late Edward Lawson.
