Frederick Dale Oliver

Frederick Dale Oliver, age 90, Flag Pond, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Friday, August 26, 2022, while he was surrounded by his family at their residence. He was born in Jonesborough to the late Dewey Donley Oliver and Lula Good Oliver. Frederick lived most of his life in Knoxville before moving to Flag Pond three and a half years ago.

He was a United States Army Veteran. Frederick graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee. He retired from Dairymen’s Incorporated/Accelerated Genetics where he worked as a Salesman to farmers throughout the Southeast.

Frederick formerly served on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He enjoyed attending the Farm Bureau fair events where children competed. He was an avid UT Football/Baseball fan and held season tickets for forty years.

Frederick was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He drove the church bus into impoverished neighborhoods where he ministered to the needs of the South Knoxville Community.

In addition to his parents, Frederick was preceded in death by his brother, Blaine Oliver, and great uncle, E.B. Good.

Frederick leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, his wife of seventy-two years, Wilma Jean Davis Oliver; two children: Randy Oliver, Flag Pond, and Linda McCurry (Dennis), Louisville, TN; two grandchildren: Kara Norton and Johnathan McCurry; three great grandchildren; two grandnieces: Suzette and Missy.

Frederick’s graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Eulogy will be delivered by Randy Oliver. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:55 p.m. on Thursday.
