Frances Harding

Frances Harding, age 82, of Flag Pond, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and daughter of the late James Arthur Harding and Omia Lee Edwards.

Frances was a member of Flag Pond Baptist Church. She retired from Morrill Motors after forty-one years of service. Frances was a board member of the Unicoi County Farm Bureau. 

Frances was an avid outdoorswoman. She was a very hard worker, and she enjoyed raising a large vegetable garden every year. Frances kept her yard and her home very well-tended too. In her younger years she enjoyed fishing. Frances would attend the Ramp Festival every year and she loved traveling with her friends.

In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by two brothers: Vance Harding and Clark Harding; two sisters: Marie English and Atlas Metcalf.

Survivors include her brother, Earnest Harding; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be held for Frances at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in the Evergreen Mausoleum. Frances' long time, dear friend, Agnes Ramsey will share remarks and sing one of Frances' favorite songs. Entombment will follow. Those wishing to attend should meet at the mausoleum by 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday.
