Frances Jean (Roark) Davis

Frances Jean Roark Davis, age 72, Unicoi, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, November 18, 2022, while she was surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and daughter of the late Oliver and Frances Cash Roark.

Frances helped her husband run their business, Davis Logging Company. She was a dedicated homemaker as well. When Frances was younger, she enjoyed camping and going to the lake. She loved square dancing with her husband. Every Monday Frances took her mother-in-law grocery shopping. They enjoyed getting to see and talk with everyone while they were at Wal-Mart. Frances lovingly raised her two grandsons. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Ray Davis; son-in-law, Clarence Hyder; several brothers and sisters.

Frances leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty-five years, Glen Davis, Sr.; two children: Lisa Hyder (Michael Renfro) and Glenn Davis, Jr. (Shelby Wilkinson), all of Unicoi; six grandchildren: Hayley Hyder (Anthony Faw), Bradley Davis, Gracie Hyder, Damien Davis, Amber Renfro and Brittany Renfro; great granddaughter, Aubree Edwards; two sisters: Sallie Lyons and Teresa Vanover; mother-in-law, Wilma Davis; special sisters-in-law: Shirley Woody and Shelby Malone (Teddy); brothers-in-law: Joe, Charlie, Freddy, Bob and Larry Davis; special friends: Gail Davis and Becky Hyatt; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Steve Cochran will officiate the 8:00 p.m. funeral service. Committal will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Davis Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jackie Hyatt, Kevin Smith, Anthony Faw, Larry Davis, Michael Renfro, Monty Davis, Teddy Malone and Richard Hyatt. Everyone is asked to meet at the Unicoi Funeral Home by 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
