Esther Setiawan

Esther Setiawan, age 74, Jakarta Utara, Indonesia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the Johnson City Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Esther is a daughter of the late Ang Cori. She was a lifelong resident of Indonesia.

Esther was a homemaker. She was a loving and devoted mother. Esther enjoyed visiting her son, daughter and grandchildren who live in Johnson City every year. She loved celebrating Thanksgiving with them and could not wait to go shopping on black Friday. Esther would arrive very early at the stores to wait in line for the best deals.

In addition to her mother, Esther was preceded in death by her husband twenty years ago and one son, Yanto.

Those left behind to cherish Esther’s memory, her daughters: Sri Swasti (Henry Winata), Dewi Astuti (Robert Liew), Sari Maharani (Morgan Ruefle), Suri Lestari (Jan Parengkuan) and Sarah Serafim (Kevin Sutanto); her sons: Suhari Aditya (Meyjun Susi), Dewanto (Meilina) and Suadhi Mahatma (Yenny Tionarta); her grandchildren: Jeanne Ivana, Jeremy Parengkuan, Florence Theona, Neville Krisna, Nicholas Mahatma, Grace Liew (Isaiah Ryans), Samuel Liew, Calvin Liew and Vania Yalefa.  

Esther will be laid to rest during a private family ceremony in Monte Vista Memorial Park.
