Eleanor (Peterson) Poole

Eleanor Peterson Poole, age 80, of Erwin, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Erwin Health Care Center. She is the daughter of the late Jerry and Idella Miller Peterson. Eleanor lived most of her life in Erwin.

She was a member of Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church. Eleanor was a homemaker, and she enjoyed reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Poole; five brothers: Garfa, Harvey, F.C., Jack, and Everette Peterson; one sister, Emaline Miller.

Survivors include her son, Brain Poole of Erwin; grandson, Kane Poole; three sisters: Wilma Jean Reedy (Jerry), Gertrude Street, and Velva Landers; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Eleanor’s funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025, in the Evergreen Mausoleum. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service should meet at the mausoleum by 12:50 p.m. on Friday.
